The public library is run by Chai Center
 of Afridar directed by Rabbi A. Kuskos. Many families are members and enjoy borrowing the high quality books and educational tapes and videos which enrich the Jewish heritage and values to the members. The library is designed and equipped in a high standard and serves as a Jewish educational center in the city.

The library also serves as a social center. Rabbi Kuskos’ contact with the hardships of many needy families caused him to broaden his activities and he organizes food packages and aid as needed to these families
